The musicians featured in the music video titled ‘Together’ are young refugees and host community members living in Lusaka, where they are supported by Caritas Czech Republic.
Besides the three refugee settlements in Mayukwayukwa, Meheba and Mantapala, Zambia’s capital Lusaka is one of the localities with the largest refugee population in the country, giving a temporary home to almost 13,000 persons of concern mostly from DRC, Burundi, Rwanda and Somalia.
People from Caritas are actively helping these refugees to improve their access to basic needs, access to quality vocational training, self-employment and entrepreneurship. Among many platforms, we have also created child friendly and youth friendly corners, spaces where children and youth can spend their free time in a meaningful way.
The young musicians of the band Strong Youths are members of the Chawama Youth Friendly Corner.
